My review of the Proenza Schouler show boils down to: "Yeah, all of that was nice, but oh my God, I love the last four looks." The majority of the runway was a showcase for reimagined classics - knit polos inlaid with strips of leather and python (there was lots of python), or a windbreaker rendered in thin leather and paired with a midi skirt in perforated leather. Some of these looks worked better than others, but it wasn't until the closing pieces that I got excited. Never before have I fallen so hard for argyle. Argyle?! The delicate diamond pattern pieced together and flowing into the fringe skirts was a stunning moment on the runway. The woven silk tank dresses, unraveled into cascading fringe, were things of dark, fluid beauty.
